I will have to try both! The Quad Anchor is my personal favorite rock climbing anchor! It is self-equalizing, easy to tie, can be tied ahead-of-time, and is very strong. Oct 6, 2025 · I like to build a quad anchor out of a 180 cm sling, but you can also just use two alpine draws (60 cm slings and a couple carabiners). It's compact, super strong, offers good equalization and redundancy, and has lots of different clipping points.
